Violet & Darren's Wedding_008

She has this habit of biting her bottom lip as she smiles when she is happy. He said when making his speech “If I had to single out one thing about why I love her so much, it would be the fact that she makes me happier than I ever dreamed I could be.” The word of the day for Violet & Darren’s wedding was most definitely “Happy”.

When I started writing this blog in July I said I would write about the highs and the lows – this was the view I was faced with at the time I should have been photographing Katy & Tom’s wedding ceremony.

People often ask me if I get nervous before I start shooting a wedding. I can honestly say no. It isn’t the thought of my equipment failing or horrendous weather that worries me, as these things can be fixed or plan B can come in to play. What actually keeps me awake at night is being late for a wedding due to a situation that is completely out of my control, despite planning an A and B and C route and leaving an hour before I really need too.

Landscape photography has never really been my thing – I find the conversation with the subject a little dull.  However, for some time now – I think I owe him about six birthday and Christmas presents – my country bumpkin of a big brother has been asking me to take some photo’s of Rye, his hometown, in East Sussex and the surrounding areas.

So the other week I found myself chasing sunsets and trying not to stand in fish guts at Hastings harbour.  Now that’s what I call sisterly love.
